Branding and Event Work

Väncon Branding Materials

Väncon is a small new fandom convention held in Kristineholm, Sweden. In 2025, they reached out to me first to create a brand profile for them, and afterward, they wanted logos and some marketing materials for the 2026 event.

The mascot for the convention is an orange and yellow phoenix, symbolising it being born from another local con that ended. The general feeling of the con was meant to bring in the feeling of going to your first fandom gathering and evoke the feeling of being young and hanging out with friends.

I decided to lean in to the geometric bold shapes from the late 90s, early 2000’s and a sort of misaligned comic font for the main logo to bring in a feeling of playfulness and childishness.

As part of the branding profile, I created a few examples of social media posts, signs, and flyers for the convention to set a standard of how to display information and keep things on theme. I gave them a library of blank documents with various elements that they could just put text over later.

The theme for the 2026 event was space and science fiction. They requested one large main image that could appear on t-shirts or other merchandise, along with several smaller, cute-style phoenixes that could be used similarly.

Nordic Game Jam 2024

The Nordic Game Jam is an event held in Copenhagen, Denmark, every year. The event hosts panels and guests, and the main goal is networking within the gaming industry. During the event, you join a team of other creatives, and within the 48-hour time limit, the goal is to create a video game from scratch.

Every year, they commission a different artist to create the branding and marketing material for the event. I was lucky enough to be chosen for 2024

I created not only the main shirt design but also materials for social media and for two billboards that would be displayed on the event space during the event. It was so amazing to see my work so large, and it was for sure a first.

This was a completely amazing experience because I had gone to the Nordic Game Jam for several years leading up to this. Taking part in such a big way in an event I enjoyed so much really was the absolute best.
